Abamectin targets the nervous system of insects and mites by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels in nerve and muscle cells. This binding increases the flow of chloride ions into the cells, leading to hyperpolarization, paralysis, and eventually death of the pest. The compound exhibits both contact and stomach action and possesses translaminar activity, allowing it to penetrate leaf tissues and form a reservoir that continues to affect pests feeding on the mesophyll.

HSC Abamectin 1.8% EC is effective against a variety of pests:

· Target Pests: Spider mites, red mites, leaf miners, thrips, aphids, and caterpillars.

· Crops: Suitable for use on cotton, citrus fruits, vegetables (such as tomatoes, brinjals, cucumbers), fruits (like apples and grapes), and ornamentals.

· Application: Applied as a foliar spray, the recommended dosage varies depending on the crop and pest severity. For instance, in cotton, a dosage of 300-500 ml per hectare is suggested, while in vegetables, 200-400 ml per hectare is recommended.
