2. Split application— For many crops, it is better to apply
SOP in splits (basal + mid growth) rather than all at once.
3. Avoid over-application— Too much K can antagonize uptake
of other nutrients (Mg, Ca).
4. Uniform distribution— Spread the granules evenly in the
root zone (avoid spot over‑dosing).
5. Compatibility— Check compatibility with other fertilizers
when mixing in blends.
6. Label & manufacturer’s guidance — Use the specific
recommendations from the product label because the formulation (K % and
additional nutrients) may differ.
