The timing of sowing should align with the specific variety recommendations, allowing for planting during the summer, Rabi, or Kharif seasons as appropriate.The recommended seed rate is between 100 to 120 grams per acre, and the sowing method can be either through line sowing with specified distances between rows and plants or through direct sowing techniques. For nursery sowing, seeds should be planted, and after a period of 21 days, the seedlings will be ready for transplanting into the field, ensuring proper spacing of 60 centimeters by 30 centimeters to facilitate healthy growth. The application of fertilizers should be carefully timed to meet the total nutrient requirements of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are 80, 100, and 120 kg per acre, respectively. For the initial application, it is recommended to incorporate 50% of the nitrogen along with the full amounts of phosphorus and potassium during the final preparation of the land. Subsequently, top dressing should be performed by applying 25% of the nitrogen at 20 days post-sowing and another 25% at 35 days post-sowing.
