1. Mesotrione (HPPD Inhibitor)
   • Mesotrione inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), which is crucial for carotenoid biosynthesis in plants.
   • Carotenoids protect chlorophyll from light degradation; their inhibition leads to chlorophyll breakdown, causing whitening (bleaching) of leaves and eventual plant death.
   • Mesotrione primarily affects broadleaf weeds.
2. Atrazine (Photosynthesis Inhibitor)
   • Atrazine interferes with photosynthesis by binding to the photosystem II complex in plant chloroplasts.
   • This disrupts energy transfer, stopping photosynthesis and causing plant death.
   • Atrazine controls both grassy and broadleaf weeds effectively.

The combined action of these two herbicides offers both contact and residual control of weeds.

Targeted Crops include corn (maize), while the focus for weed control encompasses both grassy and broadleaf weeds, such as Amaranthus, Chenopodium, and Digitaria species, among others that pose challenges. The recommended application dosage ranges from 495 to 727.2 milliliters per acre, allowing for flexibility in application as either a pre-emergence or post-emergence herbicide, contingent upon the growth stage of the weeds and the crop.For optimal results, it is essential to utilize an adequate volume of clean water, approximately 120 to 160 liters per acre, to ensure uniform coverage during spraying. The application should be conducted using either a knapsack sprayer or a boom sprayer equipped with a flat fan or flood jet nozzle. It is crucial to maintain good soil moisture to enhance the herbicide's effectiveness and to avoid spraying in windy conditions to reduce the risk of drift. Additionally, protective clothing should be worn during handling and application, and care must be taken to avoid spraying near water bodies to prevent contamination. Following crop rotation guidelines post-application is also recommended to mitigate any residual effects.
