- Belongs to the anthranilic diamide group (IRAC Group 28).
- Activates ryanodine receptors in insect muscles, causing uncontrolled calcium release, leading to paralysis and death.

Clothianidin:
- A neonicotinoid (IRAC Group 4A).
- Interferes with the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system, causing paralysis and mortality.
